LinkedIn Live Privacy Notice

This privacy notice applies to the processing of your personal data that MyData-Trust (the Controller, hereafter “MD-T”, “We”) may receive as the organizer of a LinkedIn live you register to.

Indeed, when creating an event for a LinkedIn Live, organizers may choose to request the completion of a registration form. In this case, it will not be possible to register to the Live without completing the form. If MD-T includes such a form to register to its LinkedIn Live, MD-T will receive and process some personal data about you, as described below.

  1. What personal data do we process? How and why do we use your personal information?

In the registration form, you will have to submit your first name, last name, email address, job title, company name, and country/region. After you submit this form, MD-T will be able to access this information by downloading a file from the “Manage Attendees” section of its LinkedIn Live.

This information may be used to communicate relevant information about the LinkedIn Live, thank you for your participation or share with you the replay after the Live.

You will also be added to our distribution list, to receive regular updates and communications about developments in data protection field. It will mainly consist in sending you emails (approximately once per month) containing our newsletter or invitation to our data protection related events.

More specifically, our newsletter focusses on the news in the Data Protection field. It can also include information on events, articles, links to webinars, all of this being related to data protection. You can also, independently of our newsletter, receive invitations for data protection events and/or LinkedIn Lives.

In addition, if you agree to the use of your information to send you commercial communication about our offerings (by ticking the related box in the registration form), your information will be shared with MD-T Sales department. They may then contact you to directly discuss MD-T services that may be of interest for you and your company.

  1. On what basis do we use your personal data?

The processing of your personal data to communicate relevant information about the LinkedIn Live, including sharing with you the replay afterward, is based on our legitimate interests in managing your participation and communicate about the LinkedIn Live you registered to.

In addition, we will send you data protection related communications based on MD-T’s legitimate interest to provide you with information related to data protection field, and that may be interesting for you as you have registered to a LinkedIn Live event on this topic.

Finally, the processing of your personal information for sending you direct commercial communications about our offering is based on your consent, that you provide by ticking the related box in the registration form.

If you would like to remove this authorization or object to receive our data protection related communications, see next section of this Notice or the section about your rights below.

  1. How long will we keep your personal information?

Registered attendees’ data will be available for MD-T to download it as long as technically permitted by LinkedIn (e.g. for one year from the date of registration). After one year, the data will no longer be accessible to MD-T. For its part, MD-T does not keep the downloaded information for longer than needed to ensure communication around the specific Live you registered to.

However, your email address will be encoded in our distribution list for you to receive data protection related communications. It will remain there until you indicate that you no longer wish to receive it. You can do so directly when you register to the LinkedIn Live, by contacting MD-T Data Protection Officer (“DPO” – see section 7 below) or by using the “unsubscribe link” in each communication you will receive. In this case, please note that we may retain your email address in an internal blacklist, to ensure we are not adding you back in our distribution list by mistake later on.

In addition, if you want to remove your authorization to be contacted by our Sales team to receive commercial communications about our offerings, please contact our DPO (see contact details below).

  1. Data sharing

MD-T is not selling or sharing information with someone else for their own use. We may however store your information internally in our folders (e.g. on Sharepoint) and we use Brevo to send our data protection related communications. It means such IT providers (Microsoft, Brevo) are technically processing your information, without however accessing it.

  1. What are your rights

According to the European and UK Data Protection Laws, you have the following rights:

  • Information: You have the right to be informed about the processing of your personal data;
  • Access: You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning you are being processed, and, where that is the case, all necessary information to make the process transparent;

  1. How to exercise your rights?

If you would like to exercise your rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer at [email protected]. Please note however that those rights are not always applicable, as they may be subject to legal exceptions or conditions of application that will be assessed in the course of your request.

In addition, as a reminder, you can use the “unsubscribe link” in each data protection communication we send you, and you will no longer receive them. You may also contact MD-T DPO to indicate you do not want to receive such communications, or if you would like to remove your authorization to be contacted by our teams for direct commercial communications about our offerings.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority in the Member State of the European Union of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement if you consider that your personal data is not processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
